I identify as a playwright, dramaturg, and director and love teaching theatre to students of all levels and abilities.

I'm currently the Department Chair of the Undergraduate Theatre program at Hollins University. I hold a PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts & Theatre from Ohio University with a focus on intersectional feminist theatre and playwriting as well as an MFA in Playwriting from The Playwright’s Lab at Hollins University and a B.F.A. in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.

For over thirty years, I have created and taught theatre in Europe and the U.S. My work has been produced in Germany, The Netherlands, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Ireland, and across the U.S. I've been published by Smith & Krauss, Theatrefolk, and YouthPLAYS and am currently a resident playwright at First Look Buffalo Theatre Company.

I'm also a proud member of the Dramatists Guild, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE), the American Society for Theater Research (ASTR), and the National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA).
