
I identify as a playwright, dramaturg, and director and love teaching theatre to students of all levels and abilities.
I'm currently the Department Chair of the Undergraduate Theatre program at Hollins University. I hold a PhD in Interdisciplinary Arts & Theatre from Ohio University with a focus on intersectional feminist theatre and 20th/21st century women playwrights as well as an MFA in Playwriting from The Playwright’s Lab at Hollins University and a B.F.A. in Acting from Marymount Manhattan College in New York City.
For over twenty-five years, I have created and taught theatre in Europe and the U.S. My work has been produced in Germany, The Netherlands, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Ireland, and across the U.S . I've been published by Smith & Krauss, Theatrefolk, and YouthPLAYS and am currently a resident playwright at First Look Buffalo Theatre Company.
I'm also a proud member of the Dramatists Guild, the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE), the American Society for Theater Research (ASTR), and the National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA).
